Introduction

A mature individual with an interesting set of life skills.  I am resourceful, have a broad experience of life and can turn my hand to most things.  I retired early from my career as a personnel officer in local government and with the police force and then taught English to students firstly in my own home and then took a job in an Italian school for a few months.  I have also lived in France as a concierge for a manor house.

For the past 2 years I have worked as a professional housesitter for a company within the UK as well as travelling around the world with sites such as this one to housesit and explore new countries.

I have been presented with all sorts of situations and cared for many types of animal from smallholdings through to an aviary of parrots but usually it is dogs and cats and I love both species.  I am happy to care for horses and farm animals as long as there is not a herd!!!

My interests and hobbies are many and varied.  I have an allotment where I grow my own fruit and vegetables; I like to forage for berries and mushrooms; I cook and love to eat and enjoy a glass of wine with friends.  I try to play guitar, have dabbled with tai chi but prefer yoga; walking and the countryside and conservation and the natural world in general.  I like to learn a little of the language of the country I am living in but am quite fluent in French and comfortable with Spanish and Italian.  I have studied reiki, horse and dog psychology an music also.

Why we want to house sit

I love the idea (and the experience) of moving from place to place as a psuedo resident.  Life is incredibly similar throughout the world but surprisingly unique at the same time.  I have so many incredible memories already and keep journals to remind me also.

I have always loved travelling  having spent time as a nanny/au pair in Belgium, France and Holland as a young woman.  I have lived in Italy and France teaching English.  It is really special to live in a community even for a couple of weeks and to get a feel of really knowing that small part of the world.

Previous House Sitting Experience

Firstly several years ago for a Pets at Home franchise locally and then for Homesitters Limited as a paid house and animal sitter.

I have had several assignments with Trusted Housesitters and MindmyHouse also starting with my first one in Australia and since then the United States, Sri Lanka, lots of Europe and the UK.

I love to have a dog to keep me company but am very happy to be a single lady as I am comfortable taking care of myself and with my own company.  I am, however, very gregarious and can make friends easily.  I love to expore but rarely venture out at night preferring a nice meal, a glass of wine and a snuggle with whatever pets I may be caring for in front of the tv.
